BINUH Police supports the sensitization of female students to apply in the police

As we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, BINUH is stepping up efforts to promote women representativity in the Police. To that extend, at the High school Ernest Pady at Canape Vert, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, BINUH police participated together with the women police officers of the Haitian National Police in an outreach activity aiming to sensitize female students to apply in the ongoing recruitment process of the 32nd promotion of the Haitian National Police.

While the rate of Haitian policewomen increased from 9,39 percent in the 25th promotion to 21,34 percent in the 30th promotion, the Haitian National Police, BINUH and its international partners continue to promote women participation in the 31st and 32nd promotions, in accordance with priority objectives set in the 2017-21 Haitian National Police Strategic Development Plan.

Other similar actions are planned soon.
