BINUH statement on the end of the mandate of the Transitional Presidential Council

The United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) takes note of the end of the mandate of the Transitional Presidential Council on 7 February 2026.

BINUH encourages all stakeholders to support Haiti’s transitional government. It calls on the national stakeholders to rally around the shared objectives of combating insecurity and accelerating electoral preparations. It reiterates its commitment to provide its full support to the interim government in achieving these objectives.

In accordance with United Nations Security Council resolution 2814 (2026), BINUH reaffirms the importance of dialogue to support the political process and restore democratic institutions.

In conclusion, BINUH calls on all Haitians to act in the interest of the country’s stability and development.
