Organizational Setting and Reporting
These positions are located within the Office of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General (DSRSG) of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH). The Driver(s) report to the Transport Officer.
Responsibilities 
Under close supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Driver will be responsible for the following duties:
•Makes deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between BINUH and other offices and institutions, e.g., Ministries, Embassies, Permanent Missions, etc.
•Makes minor purchases and collects urgent purchases from local suppliers as may be requested.
•Ensures the safe and timely transportation of authorized personnel and officials ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations.
•Meets official personnel at the international airport.
•Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
•Ensures that assigned vehicle is always kept in good running condition through addressing minor repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes water levels, and car washing. 
•Performs VIP driver duties.
•Assists the workshop in the preparation of vehicles for field trips, such as changing wheels, cleaning air filters, and general check-over.
•Records daily trips and fuel consumptions.
•Immediately reports incidents in case of traffic accidents in accordance with local and United Nations policies and procedures.
•Ensures that proper radio communication procedures are conducted for each journey and coordinate with security radio room as required.
•Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma is required. Possession of a valid driver’s license at a B/category or higher is required as well as knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. Driving certificates including armored vehicles/B6 is an advantage.

Work Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of work experience as a driver is required. Experience driving a variety of makes and models of manual 4X4 sports utility vehicles is required. Experience and proficiency in driving armored vehicles is desirable.
Functional Skills
Good knowledge of Port au Prince, road circuits and conditions where the office is located.   Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies. Skills in minor vehicle repairs. Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with visitors. High sense of confidentiality, initiative, and good judgment. Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background.

Language
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For these positions, fluency of French is required; knowledge of English is desirable.
